That’s Radiohead, the three-year-old chestnut colt, not Radiohead the band from Oxford. But there are some similarities between the potential derby contender and the group.
Radiohead’s trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. says besides being “cool, happy and curious”, like Radiohead the band’s frontman Thom Yorke, the horse can be temperamental. “He’ll try to take a chance and bite you.”
Radiohead is running 20-1 odds to win the May 1st race. If he wins, Radiohead could be set to go for the Triple Crown, which hasn’t been won since 1978.
Radiohead comes from England, like the band, and the horse’s great-grandfather was named Danzig, after the band. Not a bad pedigree.
