Sammy Hagar’s Tequila Announces Campaign to Discover Unsigned Rockers
Quit whatever it is you’re doing, pick up the phone right now, and tell your bass player, “we’re getting the band back together.” [lastfm]Chickenfoot[/lastfm] front man and former [lastfm]Van Halen[/lastfm] singer [lastfm]Sammy Hagar[/lastfm], alongside his signature tequila brand Cabo Wabo announced today the “Your Shot to Rock” campaign. The nationwide promotion will work with major radio stations to find the best unsigned acts in the U.S. This could be your way to rock ‘n’ roll stardom (but for the vast majority of those who enter, it will definitely not be).
Kicking off May 5, “Your Shot to Rock” lets listeners vote on competing, self-submitted bands. The winners of each participating city will be awarded a secret prize, as provided by the radio station. Participating stations and cities include our sister station the world-famous KROQ in Los Angeles.
According to Blabbermouth.net the promotion will include on-air spots, concerts, events, online marketing and social media elements. Starting May 5, designated radio stations will announce the rules of entry.
Reports indicate that [lastfm]David Lee Roth[/lastfm] will probably try to enter this contest by wearing a fake mustache.
