[lastfm]Peter Gabriel[/lastfm]‘s ‘New Blood’ tour features the singer performing along with a 54-piece orchestra, and without the use of guitars or drums. Throughout the ten day world tour the 60-year-old singer performs his new orchestral covers album Scratch My Back in its entirety as well as songs from his personal catalog.
Read on to see who the P-to-the-G is covering these days.
In what’s perceived to be a potential song swap deal with other popular performers, Scratch My Back contains covers of [lastfm]Radiohead[/lastfm], the [lastfm]Talking Heads[/lastfm], the [lastfm]Arcade Fire[/lastfm], and [lastfm]Neil Young[/lastfm] as well as other artists. Each performance is accompanied by extravagant stage visuals and a more grizzled, solemn Gabriel.
Meanwhile, vampire conspiracy theorists debate whether the tour name “New Blood” is a coded reference to Twilight: New Moon, and HBO’s True Blood. Both about vampires. Is Peter Gabriel a vampire? Is every former member of [lastfm]Genesis[/lastfm] a vampire? What do you think?
