Former [lastfm]Runaways[/lastfm] tart [lastfm]Cherie Currie[/lastfm] was recently added to the lineup of the Sixth Annual Musicares Map Fund Benefit Concert celebrating women recovering from addition.
Leave your needles before the jump!
Currie will join other artists in a benefit concert to celebrate the recovery of women in the music industry. The Sixth Annual Musicares Map Fund Benefit Concert is actually a:
dinner and concert to benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation. Over the past four years, the MusiCares MAP Fund has provided more than $3.1 million for addiction recovery treatment and sober living care for close to 1,000 clients. In addition, the MusiCares MAP Fund offers free aftercare group weekly meetings across the country.
It’s a great cause, helping former artists gain the help the need to recover from addiction. Not to cheapen the sentiment, but DJ [lastfm]Samantha Ronson[/lastfm] will be spinning at the event, which means there’s also a chance that [lastfm]Lindsay Lohan[/lastfm] could show up and as a former, “musician” maybe the people of Musicare could capture her and get her the help that she truly needs.
