Comedy Central to Develop Cartoon About Jesus Christ

“JC” will feature Christ himself escaping the shadow of his father (God) to live a regular life in New York City.  The news comes weeks after Comedy Central censored a Mohammed-themed episode of the animated show South Park when creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker received death threats.

The series will poke fun at religion and society while positioning the biblical figure as a foreigner to modern life.

God will be portrayed as a powerful, but apathetic force who regularly ignores his son’s complaints about his daily struggles.

“JC” will join other taboo testing productions such as “Supermax” where notable inmates such as Sammy “Bull” Gravano, shoe bomber Richard Reid and Unabomber Ted Kaczynski interact comically in a Colorado super maximum security prison.

All things considered, it sounds like a far cry from this Jesus who has the power to explode the Earth:

  • What do you think, is this going to be funny, or just another meager attempt at cracking wise on Jesus?

    You’re welcome Comedy Central

Fearing Islam, Comedy Central is now planning an entire show about Jesus.

Clearly, Comedy Central has complimented Christianity as they know that the worse they can expect out of Christians for besmirching Jesus is that we will say, “Well, I just won’t watch it,” or, “I will pray for them.”

As Richard Dawkins stated it (during a rare moment of clarity):
“There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death. I have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity, in so far as Christianity might be a bulwark against something worse”
