Lakers Easily Sweep Jazz Away

If you had any doubts about the Lakers after the series against Oklahoma City, I hope this sweep has helped clear things up.

The Lakers played Game 4 more like they were trying to avoid being swept, rather than laying off the gas. They didn’t waste any time, jumping out to a whopping 24 point lead in the first half.

But the real magic started in the second!

Pau Gasol clearly ate his Wheaties before the game, his 40 minutes featured a game high 33 points on 12-18 shooting. Wait, let me finish, he also had 14 rebounds.

I almost forgot about Kobe, a modest 32 points in the 111-96 win.

Lakers’ head coach, Phil Jackson, must have reminded them before the game that Phoenix was already resting at home waiting for their Western Conference Finals opponent.

“With close-out games, you have a tendency to lose focus,” said Kobe Bryant. “We kept our concentration and paid attention to detail.”

If there is one thing that was learned from this result, it’s that the Los Angeles Lakers are back to playing NBA Finals caliber basketball.
