The movie is about the Apple Corps record label owned by the [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm]. The film will focus on the operations of the publishing company as opposed to the band itself. Rather than use music from the [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] catalog, Gallagher will record tracks with his new band made up of former [lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] members.
The story will rely on the memoirs of Apple employee Richard DiLello to adapt his experience to the screen.
In an NME interview with Gallagher, the musician commented on the decision to record new music:
“We can recreate that sound like that, you know what I mean? I think it will be more exciting if you have a sound that reminds you of that era, instead of the obvious, going, ‘Oh, there’s ‘Let It Be’‘.”
[lastfm]Liam Gallagher[/lastfm]’s former band [lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] broke up this past fall, after brother Noel left the group. Gallagher’s new band will likely make a debut this October.
Does this guy like the Beatles too much or is it cool that he is making this film?
