Even though the [lastfm]Joann Jett[/lastfm] biopic The Runaways flopped, Fox Searchlight is pushing forward with plans of releasing a new movie depicting the life and times of the [lastfm]Ramones[/lastfm], punk rocks most infamous faux family.
The production company has hired Wesley Strick, the writer of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake, to pen there newest biopic.
There is no word of who will be casted to play the hard rock legends but reports indicate that a search is underway. Pssst, Fox Searchlight, we think you should get [lastfm]Amy Winehouse[/lastfm] to play [lastfm]Johnny Ramone[/lastfm]. She’s a musician, addicted to drugs and looks a lot like a man, she’s perfect.
We can only hope they take our advice on the matter. The publicity alone would generate more money than the measly $3.5 million The Runaways pulled in at the box office.
