1019070291 Lakers Steal One Back

“We ain’t coming back to LA!” said Celtics guard Paul Pierce after they stole game 2 Sunday night at the Staples Center.

Somebody MUST have forgotten to tell Mr. Pierce that in order for that to happen, the Celtics need to win the next 3 games. Losing game 3 91-84 was probably not the start that he and his Celtics were looking for.

Kobe Bryant may have led his team with 29 points, but it was Derek Fischer who led the team on the floor. Fischer scored just 5 points in the first 3 quarters but was on fire in the final frame as he scored 11 points on 5 of -7 shooting.

“Truthfully, he’s done it over and over and over again,” said Kobe Bryant. “So it’s almost his responsibility to our team to do these things.”

Boston’s Kevin Garnett played his best game in a few years as he lit up the Lakers for a team high 25 points on 11 of -16 shooting.

In a strange twist, Ray Allen didn’t make a basket in the loss going 0 of -13 from the field. For those of you who forgot, in game 2, Ray Allen set an NBA Finals record by making 8 3-pointers in a game and carrying his team to a win on the road.

Game 4 is set for Thursday at 6PM PST in Boston.
