This story is pretty hilarious, actually. Dina Lohan called the cops earlier this week after an employee at a Carvel Ice Cream store in Long Island refused to give her a free ice cream cake she’d gone to pick up for her son Cody‘s 14th birthday. That’s right, because police don’t have better matters to attend to.

Yesterday, Carvel Ice Cream issued a PR statement explaining that [lastfm]Lindsay Lohan[/lastfm] and younger sister Ali were given one of 75 Black Cards issued to celebrities last year as part of the company’s 75th anniversary celebration.
The Carvel Black Cards allow cardholder’s to get up to $25 of free ice cream at any of their stores for free. But, now the Lohans have been stripped of the privilege, because, well, because they’re the Lohans.
According to the statement issued by Carvel, the Lohan family abused of the card’s privilege, after their extended family has repeatedly used the card issued to Lindsay and Ali without either of them present.
So when Dina Lohan came looking for a free ice cream cake at a Long Island branch Wednesday night, the manager denied her and attempted to confiscate the card. Of the incident, Dina Lohan said:
He said I’m not giving the card back. He almost pushed the cake off the counter and he wouldn’t give the card back, so we called police. It’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.
Once on the scene, the cops gave the card back to Dina, instructing her to never use it again.
Of the incident, Carvel‘s statement read:
This is an unfortunate situation where certain people feel entitled to use a celebrity’s name for their own purposes. We regret that the Lohan family is upset and hope this matter is put behind us quickly.
