In true rock form, [lastfm]Bret Michaels[/lastfm] didn’t let a couple of health issues stop him from making sweet, beautiful music to the world. In fact, when some people would take some time off to rest off the kind of thing he’s been through, Michaels has only added more to his busy schedule.
So what’s in the future for the “Rock of Love” star? With the power of music on his side, there’s no limits to what he can do.
After a series of health issues starting from an emergency appendectomy, to a brain hemorrhage, a warning stroke then finding a hole in his heart, [lastfm]Bret Michaels[/lastfm] hasn’t stopped a-rocking and finds the best way to cope with his failing body is through the healing power of music.
Currently on tour and preparing for the July 6 release of his solo album Custom Built, Michaels commented in an interview with Parade, “Whatever it is, I live my life passionately, and music is a powerful healer for me. I’ve learned a lot of it is mind over matter. Once I knew that I had a chance to survive the brain hemorrhage, I was taking life and grabbing it for everything I could.”
What else does Michaels plan on grabbing on to? Perhaps the vacant seat at the judging table on American Idol? Michaels is holding strong numbers in the poll to be Simon Cowell’s successor on AI and is in the running among [lastfm]Madonna[/lastfm], [lastfm]P.Diddy[/lastfm] and Howard Stern to take over the judging duties.
So remember all you sissies out there complaining about your headache or bad back, Bret Michaels has a hole in his heart and is still rocking on, why just yesterday he joined [lastfm]Jimmy Buffett[/lastfm] on stage in Detriot, watch below!
