Before there was punk music, the [lastfm]Ramones[/lastfm] were punk. But one member thinks he’s getting punked by the band’s distribution company.

Marky Ramone, or Marc Bell to his family, is suing a distribution company for $175,000 in royalties, along with more than $1 million in punitive damages. According to the drummer, he hasn’t received a cut of [lastfm]Ramones[/lastfm] money since 2008 – and considering that “Blitzkrieg Bop” is a jock jams anthem, you know those royalty checks are pretty big!
Marky, however, gets no extra money from this performance:
Marky is one of only two remaining [lastfm]Ramones[/lastfm] members who played in the band in the 1970s. Dee Dee, Johnny and Joey Ramone all have passed away. Oddly enough, both of the remaining members from the earlier days played drums: Tommy Ramone from 1974-1978 and Marky from 1978-1983 and 1987 until the band’s retirement in 1996.
