You probably spent your 4th of July eating, drinking and trying not to blow your hand off with poorly-made fireworks. [lastfm]The Killers[/lastfm] spent theirs rocking out on the lawn of the White House. Once again, [lastfm]The Killers[/lastfm] win. Get the details on the performance after the jump!
[lastfm]The Killers[/lastfm] took the stage around 8:40 pm EDT, playing hits like “Somebody Told Me,” “Human” and “When You Were Young.”

The gig was a surprise to many, considering that [lastfm]The Killers[/lastfm] are currently on hiatus amidst rumors of intra-band squabbles. Lead singer [lastfm]Brandon Flowers[/lastfm] is prepping his solo album, as well.
But when the President of the United States calls, you answer.
“We could never repay the service men and women of this country for their contributions and sacrifice,” Flowers said. “To perform for them and their families on America’s birthday will be our pleasure.”
