Trent Reznor Scores The Social Network
A movie about some geeks who create a Web site doesn’t sound like the type of project that [lastfm]Trent Reznor[/lastfm], the mastermind behind [lastfm]Nine Inch Nails[/lastfm], would want to be associated with. But when those geeks created Facebook, and the film is directed by Oscar award-nominee David Fincher, it starts to make more sense!

Reznor revealed on his website that he will be penning the score for the film, despite initial skepticism about its story.
“I’ve always loved David’s work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story,” Reznor wrote. “When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned.”
Reznor has not been known to be a friend to social networking sites in general, with his on-again, off-again romance with Twitter being virtual water cooler chatter. But he’s had better things to do with his time as of late, including an EP of music made with his now-expecting wife, [lastfm]Mariqueen Maandig[/lastfm].
The Social Network is set for release this October. Here’s the teaser trailer:
