cbs25th anniversary rock and roll hall of fame concert Hall Of Fame Concert Earns Emmy Nods

The HBO version of the 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert, a two-night event distilled into four hours of rock goodness, scored five Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special! Other nominations and more about the special itself after the jump!

The special, which featured Jack faves like [lastfm]U2[/lastfm], [lastfm]Bruce Springsteen[/lastfm], [lastfm]Stevie Wonder[/lastfm], [lastfm]Paul Simon[/lastfm] and so many more, also garnered noms for directing, editing, sound mixing and technical direction.

It was a good year for music-related television, evidently, based on the 19 nominations for Fox’s smash hit Glee, [lastfm]Lonely Island[/lastfm] (of Saturday Night Live┬ádigital short fame) getting a nod for “Shy Ronnie,” [lastfm]The Who[/lastfm]’s Super Bowl halftime show up for Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Music or Nonfiction Programming and American Idol still chugging along with noms in six categories.

The Emmy ceremony is set for August 29th, and will be hosted by Late Night‘s Jimmy Fallon.

Who are you pulling for at the Emmys? And can anything stop Glee?
