David Gilmour Joining Roger Waters On Tour After All
Don’t get your panties all in a twist though, Floyd fans, ex-bandmates David Gilmour and Roger Waters are teaming up once again, but only for a single show on Waters’ The Wall tour.
But, shuuuush, the show date is going to be a surprise! Read how they came to their decision to get back together after the jump!
After performing a four-song set at the Hoping Foundation charity event earlier this week, the two came to the conclusion to collaborate together after a lengthy exchange on Facebook.
Basically the back-and-forth exchange went a little something like this:
Gilmour — “Heyyy buddy, wanna sing this classic [lastfm]Teddy Bears[/lastfm] tune ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’ at this charity thingy I’m doing?”
Waters — “There’s no way I can compete with your ‘superior vocals’ on the crazy range of that song. It’s way out of my vocal range.”
Gilmour — “If you do this one song with me, I’ll do ‘Comfortably Numb’ at one of your Wall shows. Whaddya say?”
Waters — “How f—ing cool! I was blown away.”
So the two made up and performed “To Know Him Is To Love Him” at the Hoping Foundation event, plus three other classic [lastfm]Pink Floyd[/lastfm] hits. In return, Gilmour is keeping his word and popping up at one of Waters’ shows, with the location being kept secret for now.
Waters ended his Facebook update with a little teaser for fans saying, “End of story. Or possibly beginning.” Could this just be the beginning of a possible full on reunion for the musicians?
