Last year, [lastfm]Aerosmith[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm]Brad Whitford[/lastfm] missed a few concerts with a head injury. Bassist [lastfm]Tom Hamilton[/lastfm] needed surgery and had to sit out a while. Singer [lastfm]Steven Tyler[/lastfm] fell off a stage and broke his shoulder, which was the last straw and forced the cancellation of the rest of the tour.
This year, even before the Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock tour got off the ground, another accident sent a warning shot across [lastfm]Aerosmith[/lastfm]’s bow. Find out about [lastfm]Joe Perry[/lastfm]‘s motorcycle accident after the jump!
Perry was rear ended while riding his Ducati Monster near his Duxbury, Mass. home yesterday by a 62-year old woman in a Chevy Malibu. The woman was judged to be at fault and cited for following too closely.
The injuries, thankfully, are minor, and Perry has already been released from the hospital. It is not thought that the accident will affect the tour.
As we’ve mentioned before, the Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock tour kicks off in 10 days at the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine.
Does anyone out there have a good ritual cleansing ceremony for the [lastfm]Aerosmith [/lastfm]boys to try? Something to ward off the demons? Or at least the phone number for the hospital in Irvine…just in case?
Maybe some intervention from the good [lastfm]Reverend Run[/lastfm] would help…
