Ace Of Base…Really?
There’s a recession going on, millions of gallons of oil are floating in the Gulf of Mexico and we’re fighting two wars. And now? [lastfm]Ace of Base[/lastfm] is coming back. Is this a good development…or the final horseman of the apocalypse? Get the details after the jump!
[lastfm]Ace of Base[/lastfm] is half-reunited with Jonas Berggren and Ulf Ekberg, the musicians behind the band’s first go-around, being joined by two new vocalists, Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson.
The group’s first single, “All For You,” was to be released to European radio last Friday. Here’s the “teaser” straight from the band itself:
It’s very…[lastfm]Ace of Base[/lastfm]y? We’ve got mixed emotions here.
There’s controversy following the new formation of the group, as Jonas’ sisters/singers Linn and Jenny Berggren were the faces of Ace of Base, and some fans have said that Jonas Berggren and Ekberg should be using a different name.
They’ve gotten backing for that stance from Jenny herself, who said on Swedish television that she’d rather have the original members call their new band something else.
Are you ready for another Swedish invasion? And if [lastfm]Ace of Base[/lastfm] is back, does this mean we’re owed a new [lastfm]Real McCoy[/lastfm] album?
