Radiohead Drummer: New Album Still Being Written
Lead singer [lastfm]Thom Yorke[/lastfm] gets most of the attention for his frontman role in [lastfm]Radiohead[/lastfm], but it would be hard to imagine the band without drummer [lastfm]Philip Selway[/lastfm]. The [lastfm]Radiohead[/lastfm] rhythm-man dished on his solo project and where [lastfm]Radiohead[/lastfm]‘s next album stands currently…and we’ve got it after the jump!
[lastfm]Radiohead[/lastfm]‘s next release “is not finished yet,” Selway said, adding, “we’re still writing – slap dab in the middle of it.”
In the meantime, Selway is preparing a solo effort of his own, channeling his inner [lastfm]Nick Drake[/lastfm] on the upcoming Familial.
“I’ve been playing guitar and writing songs since I was 15 but I started really thinking about making an album around four years ago,” he told Pitchfork. “But I didn’t know I’d sing on it; I didn’t feel I had a convincing voice at that point. It took four years of trial and error to find out the stretches I could make.”
