See ya later, Tobey Maguire. Hellooo, Andrew Garfield. There’s a new Spidey in town and a whole new crime wave to get all caught up in his web. Production for the next installment of the Spider-Man franchise is set to begin, as well as news on some dark-clad secret agents keeping the extraterrestrials at bay.
The Untitled Spider-Man Reboot flick might have a new face as Peter Parker, but it will pack the same vigilante crime fighting action and sweet special effects from the previous trilogy.
News broke earlier Tuesday morning that shooting for the new Spidey film is set to start in December around Los Angeles area, so be on the look out for a dude in a revealing leotard scaling the side of buildings leaving web residue behind.
Marc Webb is directing this installment of Spider-Man with newcomer Andrew Garfield stepping in as the masked arachnid. The rest of the cast hasn’t been confirmed, but the movie does have a release date for July 3, 2012, plenty of time to get the post-production of mind-blowing special effects just right.
Also buzzing in movie news today, is the announcement that production for Men In Black III is beginning in September in New York, with Barry Sonnenfeld sitting in the director’s chair one again. The original cast members Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will also be joined by Josh Brolin and Jermaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords fame.
What do you think, with his features, can you see Jermaine playing an alien, or secret agent?
