When Jack White’s new band, [lastfm]The Dead Weather[/lastfm], played in Los Angeles in late July, the air was pungent with American Spirits and the smell of black leather.[lastfm]White Stripes[/lastfm]-esque black, white, and red garments filled the space. Hot [lastfm]Kills[/lastfm] groupies rocked leopard print leggings. It was a show of epic proportions.
If you didn’t get to see the Los Angeles show, a guy in Brooklyn recorded the entire [lastfm]Dead Weather [/lastfm]show on his camera phone. It’s almost like going to the Palladium. Yeah, not really. But the sound is practically the same.
If you’ve been to a show recently at the Hollywood Palladium, you know what we mean.
But [lastfm]The Dead Weather[/lastfm] is our favorite new band and the show was killer; [lastfm]White Stripes[/lastfm] fans got to ogle ex-[lastfm]Kills[/lastfm]vocalist [lastfm]Alison Mosshart[/lastfm]. [lastfm]Kills[/lastfm] fans got to see their beloved Mosshart play the Palladium. Newbie [lastfm]Dead Weather[/lastfm] fans got to experience one of the most extreme nights of Detroit grunge ever seen in Hollywood.
Replace Brooklyn with Los Angeles and this could have been the same show.
So many bands involved. So many cities. So much awesomeness multiplied.
