Jason Bonham “Dreams” of a Led Zeppelin Reunion- And Sends Invites!
He certaintly isn’t promising a reunion during his “[lastfm]Led Zeppelin[/lastfm] Experience” tour scheduled for the fall. But Jason Bonham has vividly expressed that it’s his “goal and dream” to play on stage with the whole band again. He said: “That’s what I’m doing [this] for. I’d love it.”
Bonham sent out personal invites to band members Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones— asking them to join him at any/all shows! Will they show up…?
Bonham’s “Led Zeppelin Experience” will mark the 30th anniversary of his father’s death and the disintegration of the band. He will be accompanied by five other un-named musicians. The show is being produced by Annerin Productions, the company that brought us the Beatles tribute show “Rain” and “The Pink Floyd Experience.”
(Jason) Bonham first played with the band in 2007, stepping in after the death of his father John “Bonzo” Bonham– taking the stage along side Page, Plant and Jones at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert at London’s O2 arena.
I’m not going to hide it from them. I will invite them to every show I can, because my goal and dream is. Wouldn’t it be cool if I did something that they thought was cool and they would get up and play with me? That’s what I’m doing [this] for. I’d love it.
Plant has reportedly already contacted Bonham to give him is blessing and wish him luck on the LZE tour— but the other members have not spoken up since the tour was announced. The tour is set to run for 30 shows, but Bonham hopes that more will follow.
Bonham said: “What I want to do is a personal story… give a little background on [the songs he plays] and the reason why I’m playing them, and stories about growing up with dad and how Zeppelin has been part of my life from the beginning. It’s a good musical journey; it’ll be sad at times…but it will really be a celebration.”
Dates and ticket information will be released next week… Check back to see if the LZE is coming to your town!
