But [lastfm]Bono[/lastfm] can’t beat cigarettes.
The [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] frontman had a lot of down time while recuperating from his back surgery.
“One of the things you can do when you’re lying down like that is to write, so I wrote,” he said. “Lying motionless I also had time to think about the future, because I never think about the past. … The other thing I did was to eat ice cream and I also started smoking again.”
[lastfm]Bono[/lastfm] was told to give up smoking in the late 90s because of a bad sinus infection, though he’s been on and off that wagon over the last decade – sometimes even rehearsal:
