A rock star rolls into Syracuse, expecting to get ready for his big concert that night and walks into an empty arena with no stage, no sound and no lights. It sounds like an episode of “Punk’d,” but it actually happened to [lastfm]Bret Michaels[/lastfm] two weeks ago. And he’s not taking it well.
Michaels is suing Michael Banks, the concert promoter, both for postponing his show and allegedly defamatory statements made in the aftermath to the tune of $5 million.
“You don’t just go: ‘Hey I don’t feel like paying anybody,’” Michaels told a local television station. “I think with a guy like Mike, he bit off more than he could chew.”
The show was scheduled for the same night as a Michaels appearance on “America’s Got Talent.” The television show was pre-taped, but Banks postponed Michaels’ show in Syracuse, though, after seeing advertising for the television spot.
Michaels has said he will head back to Syracuse as soon as the show is rescheduled with a different promoter.
