Guitar legend [lastfm]Eric Clapton[/lastfm] is getting back on the store shelves with a brand new solo album – his first since 2005 – and he’s invited a handful of friends along for the ride.
Clapton’s 19th solo record, simply entitled Clapton, will feature guest appearances by [lastfm]Sheryl Crow[/lastfm], [lastfm]Allen Touissant[/lastfm], [lastfm]Steve Winwood[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Wynton Marsalis[/lastfm]. It hits stores on September 28.
“It’s actually better than it was meant to be because, in a way, I just let it happen,” the legend told Billboard. He continued by saying:
It’s an eclectic collection of songs that weren’t really on the map-and I like it so much because if it’s a surprise to the fans, that’s only because it’s a surprise to me, as well.
Clapton played at his Crossroads Guitar Festival earlier in 2010. Could the new album bring with it a new tour?
Or, to put it another way: PLEASE let the new album bring a new tour.
