Slash Files For Divorce, Hits Self For Not Getting Prenup
When will rock stars learn that it’s never a good idea to tie the knot with a young, hot slice of meat without protecting the hard-earned assets that being a rock legend brings in annually with a tightly secured prenup? In another “court-ordered” do us part in the rock world, [lastfm]Guns N’ Roses[/lastfm] guitarist Slash has filed divorce papers with his wife of nine years, Perla Ferrar, and it could get messy.
Just after taking the stage over the weekend at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, news surfaces that [lastfm]Slash[/lastfm] has filed for divorce from his wife of nine years citing — you guessed it — irreconcilable differences, with the separation date being July 15, 2010. But for what it’s worth, their marriage outlasted dozens of other mis-matched made in heaven rock couples like Pam Anderson and [lastfm]Kid Rock[/lastfm], so there’s that.
Slash’s rep tells People, “I can confirm the divorce papers were filed and from Slash’s perspective the split is amicable” and is willing to pay spousal support according to the documents, but there is no prenup.
Even though they’re no longer seeing eye to eye after nine years, Slash (aka Saul Hudson) and Ferrar brought two rockin’ kids into the world, raising two boys London, 8, and Cash, 4 during their marriage. The 45-year-old guitarist is asking for joint and physical custody of their children.
But there’s some good that came out of the companionship with [lastfm]Slash[/lastfm] crediting Ferrar for helping the rocker settle his inner demons, saying she helped get “rid of all the real hardcore stuff that I used to live on,” but apparently that’s not enough to keep from becoming “Estranged.”
Let’s take a moment and remember other fallen celeb marriages:
