Billy Joel Joins New Rock Band 3 Video Game Just To Piss Off Critic
Who here watches The Office? What a fun show! That Michael Scott always gettin’ himself into the craziest of situations. And how about that writing? Top notch!
Why are we talking about The Office in a [lastfm]Billy Joel [/lastfm]themed post? Recently the television show made a joke where a characters talks about the Rock Band video game, mocking the idea of playing a Billy Joel song on it.
Following the episode, Billy Joel contacted USA Today and said, “[A] critic wrote something like, ‘God forbid that ever should happen.’ So I called my people and said, ‘Get me (on) that Rock Band game.’ Then I wrote the critic, saying that every time I get a check, I’ll give him a little nod.”
This is the first time Billy Joel has allowed his songs to be used in the game. Hard to believe the only reason he is doing it is only to piss off a single man. But then again, Joel is a talented musician and deserves a little more respect than that.
Rock Band 3 will feature a new instrument – the piano. It only makes sense that the original Piano Man gets to ring in this marriage of the video game/music evolution.
The songs on offer will be: “Big Shot”, “Captain Jack”, “It’s Still Rock N Roll to Me”, “Movin’ Out”, “Only The Good Die Young”, “Piano Man”, “Pressure”, “Say Goodbye to Hollywood”, “The Entertainer”, and “The Stranger”.
