It was on this day in 1955 that Rosa Parks took a famous stand by sitting down, helping bring equality to this vehicle and the rest of society as well. Let’s celebrate her courage with some classic bus tracks like these:
“Waiting for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago” by [lastfm]ZZ Top[/lastfm]. You need all the mercy you can get when the bus is late and it’s 10 degrees on the Brown Line platform. (Don’t worry about the Nazarene by the way, he’s got that omnipresent thing happening .)
“Kiss Me On the Bus” by the [lastfm]Replacements[/lastfm]. A buss on the bus! (Consenting adults only please.)
“Bus Stop” by the [lastfm]Hollies[/lastfm]. “Someday my name and hers are going to be the same.” How Mrs. Nash came to be.
“Magic Bus” by the [lastfm]Who[/lastfm]. The only way to travel in the 60s.
“No Spitting on the Bus” by [lastfm]Steve Gibbons[/lastfm]. Basic bus hygiene from the English Bob Seger. (Don’t call him that to his face.) Think of Rosa when you get your December monthly today and remember, no eating!
