Now you can take JACK FM everywhere with you, which should make up for all of those times you left us locked inside your car with the windows up.
The new application, or “app” to geeks, offers access to live radio streams to over 600 different music, news, sports, and talk stations. You can choose any radio station in the nation, ranging from the designer’s Top Picks, to recommended stations, or just go ahead and access your favorite local stations (COUGH COUGH JACK FM COUGH COUGH)
With a staggering 17 million downloads to date, this Radio.com app remains the most popular radio application for iPod users today.
Features of the new applications include:
▪ Background streaming: the new apps take full advantage of the ability to multitask and stream audio while playing games, checking email, or browsing the web;
▪ Skip counter: for interactive stations programmed by AOL and Yahoo! Music where listeners have the option to skip songs, the new app tracks the users interaction with the music and lets them know when they’ve exceed the predetermined limit (six) per hour;
▪ Tag stations/songs as favorites, making it easier to recall your top-rated channels or purchase an individual tune for download;
