News surrounding the new Muppets film has been scarce. Jason Segel has kept details regarding the latest film of the franchise quiet for quite some time now. Come on, man! Muppets From Space hit the theatres all the way back in 1999 – that’s eleven years since our last foray with Fozzie! Our last run with Rizzo the Rat! Our last swoop with The Sweedish Chef!
While secrecy and mystery shroud the light over our favorite puppets, Dave Grohl let slip a little gold nugget regarding the film. Grohl plans to step in for a stint as the Muppets drummer while Animal attends anger management treatment.
That’s too bad, really. Animal is a much better drummer than Grohl.
Actor-turned-director Jason Segel let loose that Grohl will not be the only cameo. Such the likes of Jack Black, Ricky Gervais, Zach Galifianakis, Paul Rudd, Danny Trejo, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rooney, and even Lady Gaga will be seen on the silver screen alongside Kermit and Piggy.
The film plans a worldwide release Novemeber 23, 2011. Betcha we beat you in line for tickets.
