Dr. Cranfill’s NFL Conference Championship Weekend Predictions
Talk about coming up big last week!!!! Dr. Cranfill, that’s me, went 4-0 picking against the Vegas spreads in the Divisional round of the playoffs. 4-0. A $100 bet woulda won you a couple grand or so. No biggie. Question is, can I pull a repeat performance out of my helmet during conference championship weekend? Guess we’re about to find out…
NFC Championship Game
Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears (+3½)(43)
Plus 3½? PLUS? The higher seeded HOME team is the underdog? That’s straight up disrespectful. You gonna take that Chicago? I mean, you just got Deebo disrespected by Las Vegas. Question is….how should you bet? If you read last weeks column, you know I lost two bets this year centered around the Chicago Bears which ended with me taking shots of Jager and punching cacti. So how bout that over under number of 43? Sounds kinda high to me. This is the third Bears v Packers matchup of the year. Bears won 20-17 first time, 10-3 Packers the second. Also, the high in Chicago is supposed to be 22° with scattered snow flurries. I’m going with the under here and if you wanna MAKE me choose a winner in this game, I go PACKERS. Which means I just jinxed em.
AFC Championship Game
New York Jets vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-3½ )
Yet another post-season rematch from the regular season. The Jets won last time, 22-17 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Last week I took the Jets in an upset liking them to Daniel-son from Karate Kid fame. Well, Daniel-son DID win the All Valley Karate Tournament and Elizabeth Shue’s undying affection but I hate to break it to ya, that was the movies. Sunday at Heinz Field is some real life. No way the Jets do it again. Take the Steelers to win, but don’t be surprised if the Jets still cover. So there it is. My 2011 Conference Championship predictions. Can I repeat last week’s perfection? I know Vegas is rooting against me but as I’ve said many times before, “scared money don’t make money.” Aint that right Kenny?
