Autism Information:
Autism is a devastating neurological and biological disorder that typically affects children between the ages of 18 months to five years. Autism currently affects 1 in every 91 children in the U.S., it is estimated there are almost 2 million people in the United States alone with autism. Autism affects each individual differently and at varying levels of severity. Some people with autism are severely affected, cannot speak, require constant individualized care, and are never able to live independently. Others have less severe symptoms, can communicate, and eventually acquire the necessary skills to live independently.

Symptoms of Autism – typically, autism affects individuals in five key areas:

  • Communication (verbal and non-verbal)
  • Social skills
  • Behaviors
  • Medical Issues
  • Learning

TACA believes in early diagnosis, intensive therapies and medical intervention for children affected by autism. With early intervention, medical treatment unique to each person’s needs and necessary support services for families, many children can improve greatly and some can recover from their autistic symptoms. We believe the future is not defined for children affected by autism. Hope and recovery is possible.

What has JACK FM & TACA accomplished together?
Since 2006, Jack FM & TACA have partnered in six separate events including: Jacks First Show, Jacks Second Show, Jacks Third Show, Jacks Fourth Show, Jack’s Fifth Show and the Jack Open Golf Tournament. TACA has benefitted greatly from being included in these Jack FM activities.

Together we have touched over 70,000 people at these events with announcements, the TACA message, and autism disease awareness. Countless others heard the radio spots on Jack FM.

Each of these events has had the Jack FM signature of fun, while at the same time educating a large audience and helping to raise the necessary funds to provide programs for families affected by autism.

This partnership has been incredibly successful for TACA and we are so grateful for the support.
