You may have seen a few Sticker Pimps running around the Gladiator Rock’n Run events over the past year. Check out the grand contribution and over-sized check your donations helped fund. Dan “Nitro” Clark, Gladiator Rock’n Run organizer and former American Gladiator, was present to accept check along with Jack FM’s Marketing Director, Chad Fitzsimmons.
From The O.C. Register:
“A year ago Clark launched a new venture, the Gladiator Rock’n Run, a series of adventure-obstacle-mud runs, decided from the start to give some of the proceeds to benefit charities. The inaugural run in Irvine… [and] the three held since then resulted in a $40,000 donation from Clark to Talk About Curing Autism, a national group with 28,000 members that was born 12 years ago in Orange County.

“His interest in making TACA the sponsored charity came through what Clark described as a synergy of coincidences. His best friend and roommate from college, Bill Lehman of San Clemente, has a son, Billy, with autism (both of whom were at the event on Tuesday). Chad Fitzsimmons, the marketing director for Jack FM, which has partnered with Clark on the Gladiator runs, was on the board of TACA, and another old friend from Santa Ana College also worked at the charity for a time.
“Ackerman said TACA will use the $40,000 for general support in its mission to help families and people with autism. The attention brought to the group by Clark and the Gladiator runs is also a tremendous gift, she said.
“Clark said he plans to donate more to TACA in 2012 for which he hopes to have 14 Gladiator runs around the country, including a return to Orange County on April 28 at the Great Park in Irvine.”
