So, there are only two really important things that happened on this date in History, on this wonderful February 13th. Wanna find out what they are?
First, in 1633, Galileo Galilei was in Rome for the Inquisition. Galileo would be tried for his beliefs that the earth revolved around the sun, not the other way around! Ultimately, he would be found guilty of heresey and be forced to spend the rest of his life under house arrest.
While under house arrest, Galileo would write Two New Sciences, one of his finest works.
The next event happened in 2008. Mel Gibson completed his DUI probation.

This event was significant because it prevented Gibson from any further incarceration. This freed Gibson up to release The Beaver in 2011 (which was snubbed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes), and also allowed him to make some of the finest phony phone calls since the Jerky Boys.
Yep, February 13th sure has a rich history of stuff happening on it alright.
