There’s been more talk about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame than in recent memory, largely due to Guns N’ Roses scheduled appearance. Will all the members show? Who will present the band? Those are the questions being asked ad nauseam.
To add to the ferver, the Hall of Fame has just announced two familiar faces will induct two important bands. Chris Rock and Public Enemy’s Chuck D, two consistently controversial figures, will induct Los Angeles rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and New York City’s rhyme slingers, the Beastie Boys. The Beasties were nominated back in ’09 but weren’t selected for induction.
Following 2011′s induction ceremony, Rolling Stone asked Rob Zombie what it was like being on stage. “It’s not really about The Hall Of Fame inducting them, it’s sorta like the elder artists inducting each other and what they mean to each other, that’s what it felt like tonight, and that’s what you don’t get from watching it on TV. But standing on stage, it’s not a like a crowd, it’s Elton John, Leon Russel, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young… You get a totally different perspective of what it means.”
The 27th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio. You can watch the on HBO ,Saturday, May 5 at 9:30PM ET/6:30PM PT.
