Who says Muscle Madness is an adult sport?

Above is a photo of Tunisia’s Soumaya Fatnassi attempting to lift 101 kgs in the Clean and Jerk… not even close to a “world record.” If you want to see a world record, visit the home of 10-year-old Naomi Kutin, where the fifth grader has just been recorded lifting 215 pounds, shattering the 97-pound division competition. The next closet competitor? A 44-year-old at 209 pounds.

Kutin could not be reached for comment, due to the fact that recess was still in session and she was “it.”

How does a middle schooler find the time (and patience) to compete in international power-lifting?

When I was younger, my friends would be doing a lot of things that I couldn’t do, and I wanted to do something extraordinary,” an excited Kutin said. “I wanted to break a record of some sort and I just really wanted to get this record.”

Check out Naomi making an impression as a 9-year-old.
