Members of the Grateful Dead will look to keep the good vibes coming when they perform during the 17th annual Gathering of the Vibes festival at Bridgeport’s Seaside Park in Connecticut from July 19-22.

But, unfortunately for Deadheads, it looks like the surviving band members will take the stage separately in the form of their own solo projects.

The second day of the festival, July 20, will be the “Day of the Dead,” if you will. Vibes founder Ken Hays tells Billboard that Friday will feature performances by bassist Phil Lesh & Friends, guitarist Bob Weir with Bruce Hornsby and Branford Marsalis, and percussionist Bill Kreutzmann with his current project, 7 Walkers.

Percussionist Mickey Hart will perform on Saturday, July 21 to promote his new band’s album “Mysterium Tremendum,” which comes out April 10.

“It’s a kindred spirit thing,” Hart told Billboard. “It feels very homey, very warm and fuzzy for us. After Jerry (Garcia) died, these people… didn’t want the groove to stop, didn’t want the vibe to stop, so they put this (festival) together over the years.”

Neither Hays or Hart would comment on whether the Dead would perform together at any point during the festival, but the founder says having them in attendance in any capacity is well worth it to them and the fans who pay for passes.

A weekend pass will cost $185 for general admission, $420 for VIP, and prices for single day tickets will be determined soon. Additionally, Connecticut residents and state employees will receive a 50% discount for the festival’s final day, and children fifteen and under will be admitted for free if accompanied by a parent.

Also on the bill for the 17th annual Gathering of the Vibes festival are the Avett Brothers, Primus, Zappa Plays Zappa, Steel Pulse, Sound Tribe Sector 9, and many others.
