Original Recipe Found To Our Liquid Self, Jack Daniels
Four score and seven years ago, old number 7 was born. The first day of the rest of our sorry American lives.
It wasn’t really four score and seven years ago, and its origin has possible roots other than American after all.
Sorry to rain on your parade fellow American drinkers, but here is the real deal behind the magic potion that is the cause and solution to all of life’s problems.
Jack Daniels is full of surprises, but who ever thought a little old lady would hold the key to the appetites of so many loyal drinkers.
Mark Evans, a 54-year-old Welsh man claims to have found the original recipe for Jack Daniels Whiskey.
When perusing through family history, a book of herbal remedies was found that belonged to his great grandmother.
We knew it had to be magical!
The recipe found, was written in 1853, around the time her brother-in-law moved to Lynchburg, Tennessee. The famous distillery was founded here three years later. The name of her brother-in-law was John “Jack the lad” Daniels.
The official Jack Daniels website claims the founder was one of thirteen children, though no birth records are present. The book “Blood and Whiskey: The Life And Times Of Jack Daniel,” claims that Daniel was born in 1849 in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
Could the book of herbal remedies have true meaning to all of you Jack lovers out there? (Pun intended.) An unsolved mystery is among us.
