5 Songs About Wearing Shades In Honor of Sunglasses Day

Dude, it is really awesome when you roll up in your Range Rover at Club Roxbury and you are wearing some dope reflective Oakley shades. ‘Cuz that’s really hot and all the ladies love a man of mystery, especially when he’s obviously too cool to look at people properly in the eyes.

Our love for the extra-shady rock ‘n roll gentleman prompted us to celebrate a little-known UV-protection oriented holiday called National Sunglasses Day with a list of our favorite rock songs about, yes, sunglasses.

“Sunglasses at Night”-Corey Hart

“Cheap Sunglasses”-ZZ Top

Seriously, one of the most iconic sunglasses wearing bands in the world. Check the video here.

“Sunglasses After Dark”-The Cramps

“Sunglasses after dark/aaah, they’re so sharp/and you’ll be cool/and the squares will drool…” Nothing better than some old-school Cramps. Takes us back. Listen to the song right hurrr.

“The Boys Of Summer”-Don Henley

“You got your hair slicked back and those/Wayfarers on, baby/I can tell you my love for you will still be strong/After the boys of summer, have gone.”

And now the hipsters have burned us all out on wearing those iconic Ray-Bans. Thanks a lot Don Henley.  See Henley’s dramatic black and white video here.

“The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades”-Timbuk 3
