Is this what it has finally come to people? The machines that we once consumed, will soon consume us.
Even as powerhouse humans, we haven’t adequately proven ourselves capable of operating motor vehicles safely? Apparently this is so, as self-driving cars will be coasting the California freeways in no time. JOYRIDE!!
Don’t panic, this could mean that you will be chauffeured around like a rock star to do all the texting, taking pictures of yourself, shotgunning beers, and picking your schnoz that you could ever imagine.
As The Economist notes, around 90 percent of traffic accidents are caused by human error. NO DUH. A bill that will make driver-less cars welcome on the open road, will soon be approved by California state legislatures. Here we freakin’ go.
According to cnbc.com, state Senator Alex Padilla authored this bill, which was passed by the state assembly Wednesday and praised by the state Senate the next day.
We are the second state to pass legislation on these self-operating whips, as Nevada passed the law last year. Google engineers announced that their self-driving cars have already logged a combined total of 300,000 miles.
Although it seems like a slap in the face, we have clearly conformed to living a lifestyle where our technology is more of a priority than the potentially man-eating machine we control daily.
Don’t worry your ladygetters folks, humans ARE required behind the wheel, although they will not be maneuvering it. Welcome to the new beginning Jack FM children, a wild ride awaits you.
