KISS’ Gene Simmons hasn’t exactly hidden his disappointment in President Obama’s performance in the White House during this election year, and it seems the hits just keep coming. Simmons, who voted for Obama in 2008, now calls him “a piss-poor president” but “a wonderful family man” in a recent interview with Noisecreep.

“The country is so divided,” Simmons said. “I voted for President Obama last time, but I have to say I’m very disappointed in his job. He’s been a piss-poor president as far as I’m concerned. Mitt Romney has some issues I don’t like, but I will tell you that he’s much more qualified. He’s a businessman, he ran the Olympics intro profit – it was a disaster before he came along. He’s run businesses, he knows how to create jobs. President Obama is a wonderful family man. And that’s about where the resume stops.”

Earlier this year, many mistook Simmons’ criticism of Obama on TV’s Fox And Friends as an endorsement for Romney – a point the KISS bassist quickly clarified. “I have not endorsed either Gov. Romney or Pres Obama,” Simmons wrote in a statement posted on his official website. “I am socially liberal. And I am a fiscal and foreign policy conservative…I HAVE NOT MADE UP MY MIND.”

However, during the aforementioned Fox News appearance in April, Simmons did give the former Massachusetts governor and CEO props on his business insight, much as he did in his recent Noisecreep interview. “I have some real issues with the economy and how it’s being done,” Simmons said at the time. “America should be in business and it should be run by a businessman.”

Official endorsements aside, it sounds like Simmons is going red this November.
