Hurricane Sandy a/k/a Frankenstorm doesn’t just have a comical name; it’s actually gunning to be one of the biggest storms to ever hit the East Coast and will affect tens of millions of people. That’s hard to remember when it’s 80 degrees and delightfully sunny in the land of the Lost Angels.
If you have friends or relatives, we’ve found a few ways to keep up with Sandy without watching all the melodramatic, depressing news feeds: webcams, an interactive map, and Twitter.
- Quartz made a list of 49 different webcams in New York City, Long Island, the Jersey Shore, Virginia Beach, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Maine. Watch as the rain comes down and feel like you are a part of the whole thing. But count your blessings that you’re not!
- Listen to East Coasters and delusional socialites (like Lindsay Lohan) give their opinion on the storm. Go to #Sandy for the latest trending tweets.
- Google has an incredible interactive map of the storm’s progression. Click the picture below to check it out!
