If you ride a manatee in Florida, or any other endangered aquatic animal, you will get arrested. So, if you plan on riding an aquatic animal for an extended amount of time, plan on spending even more time chillin’ with Bubba in the penitentiary. Make sure your spiritual jaunt into the wild blue is worth it because the state says it’s illegal to “annoy, molest, harass, or disturb” these animals according to the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act reports Reuters.

That didn’t stop a clueless 53-year-old woman, Ana Gloria Garcia Gutierrez, who took a second-degree misdemeanor joyride on the back of one of the giant sea dwelling creatures. After media coverage of an unidentified woman playing with the manatees, Garcia Gutierrez turned herself in although she said that she is “new to the area and did not realize it was against the law to touch or harass manatees.”

No word on how much time Garcia Gutierrez will face for teasing the manatees.
