It’s a sad day for sports fans here in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that longtime Angels and Kings announcer and the PA voice for the Clippers David Courtney passed away on Thursday.
Courtney was born in New York City and moved to Los Angeles in 1963. During his long career, Courtney announced games for the Houston Rockets, the Houston Astros, and the (at the time) Los Angeles Rams. He has been the voice of the Kings since 1989 and the voice of the Angels since 1994.
The cause of his death has not been released. Courtney was 54 years old. He is survived by his wife, Janet Fisher-Courtney.
