So there are bad days, and then there are bad days. Then there are really bad days. Then there’s the kind of day this guy had. All Brian Reynolds of Salem, Massachusetts, wanted to do was stop his truck after his brakes had failed.
For most people, brake failure alone constitutes a pretty crappy day. But Reynolds still had to stop his truck.
Running out of time and options, Reynolds opened his door and employed the Fred Flintstone technique. Yes, he actually planted his left foot against the asphalt in an attempt to slow his vehicle. Needless to say, that didn’t work.
Next, Reynolds tried steering his truck up an embankment. His door was still open, however, and he ended up falling out, getting his left leg run over in the process. The truck, meanwhile, carried on, eventually crashing into a fire hydrant.
Police responded to the scene and found Reynolds face down on the road. He was taken to Salem Hospital, according to NBC Los Angeles, where he was treated for road rash and a leg injury.
That’s a bad day in anyone’s book. But it gets worse for Reynolds. Perhaps feeling the need to kick him while he was down, police actually issued Reynolds a ticket. He was cited for driving with defective equipment. Ouch.
For those of you keeping score, that was brake failure, falling out of a moving vehicle, getting your leg run over, suffering road rash, having your truck crash, and being issued a ticket all in one unfortunate incident.
So next time you think you’re having a bad day, just remember Brian Reynolds and shut up.
