Now That Dogs Can Drive Cars Humanity Is Useless
Just when you thought it was impossible for the world to get any more weird or wonderful, an Australian celebrity animal trainer has undertaken the task of teaching dogs how to drive. No word yet on whether they can fly or run democracies. But we’re pretty sure that’s coming soon.
The trainer and his team went to a shelter and taught three dogs, out of a shortlist of seven dogs, how to drive through trained behavior that they then put into a sequence.
While the process was complicated, Monty, an 18-month-old giant schnauzer, Jenny, a 1-year-old whippet cross, and Porter, a 10-month-old bearded cross stray, all learned how to eventually drive a engineer modified car–with the help of a trainer that is!
Next on the list is getting the dogs to drive alone. But they’ll apparently only do that on live television.
We’re really excited for this development. Now when we’re too lazy to drive down the street to get beer and we joke that our dogs can do it, they might actually be able to.
