If you JACK FM listeners are anything like JACK FM employees, then chances are you like to drink. We like booze. A lot. In fact, the only thing we like better than booze is cheap booze, which is why Charles Shaw, affectionately known as “Two Buck Chuck,” has such a special place in our hearts.

But Trader Joe’s has just become Traitor Joe’s after they have done the unimaginable: they’re raising the price of Two Buck Chuck to $2.50,the Los Angeles Business Journal reports.

Do they have no shame? No respect for nicknames, history, or impoverished radio station employees?

Surely they realize that “Two and a Half Buck Chuck” just doesn’t roll off the tongue. And don’t they know they be costing us at least an extra $3.50 a week? At least! And that’s not including taxes!

The price increase is due to rising production costs, Trader Joe’s spokesperson Alison Mochizuki told the LA Business Journal. It’s the first price hike of the famous wine since it debuted over ten years ago. Looks like our budget for “essential items” has just gone up.
