Crosby, Stills and Nash are planning to jazz things up – literally – at an upcoming event. The trio will collaborate with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for “The Crosby Stills & Nash Songbook.”

“Individually and collectively, David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash are influential and important figures in American music,” Marsalis said in a press statement. “Their music is rooted in American folk, pop and blues traditions and their experiments with form, harmony and orchestration will make for a natural collaboration.”

Crosby, a noted jazz fan said, “Wynton Marsalis, who has become America’s musical hero and ambassador to the world in the tradition of the great Louis Armstrong, has offered us the chance to make music with the Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchestra. These are musicians who have spent their whole lives becoming the very best in the world at what they do. We are are excited and fascinated with this merging of musical streams and looking forward to a night to remember.”

The show will premiere as part of a gala event on May 1, and is only for high-rollers: tickets start at $1,500 and tables start at $25,000. That event honors Mica Ertegun, a well-known interior designer in New York… but probably more well-known to music fans as the wife of the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who signed CSN to their first record deal with Atlantic.

A public concert will follow on May 3. More ticket information available on Jazz At Lincoln Center’s website
