Will it flop, or will it change the world? We’re talking about Google Glass, a piece of eyewear that makes you kind of look like a cyborg, a definitely makes you one step closer to actually being a one.
It’s kind of like a smartphone, except instead of holding it in your hand, you wear it like a pair of glasses. The display appears right in your line of sight, seamlessly integrating itself like some sort of high tech copilot.
And what, you ask, does this copilot do exactly? Well, it’s a video camera, navigation system, internet search engine, and much, much, more from what we can tell. Take a look at the video below. It’s one of those things that easier to see than explain.
Right now, you could be one of the few who actually get to beta test Glass in the real world. All you need to do is be at least 18 years old, fill out an application describing what you would do if you had Glass, and fork over about 1,500 bucks. You’ll also need to attend a “special pick-up experience” in LA, NYC, or San Francisco.
Hey, no one said the future was cheap.
The deadline to submit your application is February 27th, so you better hurry up. For more information, visit Google.com/Glass.
