Jack White has been named Record Store Day 2013 Ambassador, allowing Iggy Pop to go back to his normal duties as a music fan (he was ambassador 2012).

This year’s Record Store Day is scheduled for April 20.

As the new ambassador White commented, “As Record Store Day Ambassador of 2013 I’m proud to help in any way I can to invigorate whoever will listen with the idea that there is beauty and romance in the act of visiting a record shop and getting turned on to something new that could change the way they look at the world, other people, art, and ultimately, themselves.”

In a just-released behind-the-scenes video, White tours Nashville’s Untied Record Pressing, which presses vinyl for his Third Man Records label. White proceeds pulls the lid off an incredible music industry conspiracy.
